Local law enforcement needs your help in their hunt for a fraud and money laundering suspect. Warrants have been issued for 35-year-old Mitchel Landry. Calgary police have been unable to track him down and on Wednesday put out the call to the public. It’s alleged he ripped off at least two people on deals started over Facebook. Police say one victim reached out to a man about building a sauna in December 2024. According to police, a 50 per cent deposit was paid and the man attended the victim’s home to take measurements. He advised he couldn’t follow through and promised a refund in January before disappearing, police said. Police say another victim reached out to a man about building a sitting area in May 2025. Once again, police say a 50 per cent deposit was paid and the man attended the victim’s residence to drop off materials. He kept putting off the work and refused when the victim asked for a refund, police said. Police link Landry to both incidents. They believe there might be other victims. Landry is described as about six feet tall and 185 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. Photos of him have been released. It’s believed he drives a 2008 Ford F-150 with Alberta licence plate CWH4036. Police say he also goes by Mitch Ryan and operates as Silverado Lawn and Snow as well as The Deck Experts. Neither business is registered in Alberta, police say. Anyone who knows where Landry might be is asked to call police at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
