It was a hot one in Calgary on Tuesday and will be even hotter on Wednesday. There was record-breaking heat in some communities in southern Alberta on Tuesday, and that heat will linger for the rest of the work week. Many communities are under a heat warning until Friday night. Calgary temperatures will be just out of the heat warning criteria, but it’s still heat to take seriously. There’s a small chance of an isolated sprinkle on Wednesday in the morning and afternoon, with a high of 28 C in the city. We will get even closer to 30 C in the city on Thursday and there will be severe storms developing in late afternoon — especially along Highway 2. A low pressure system will move in on the weekend and break the heat and bring along buckets of rain. Ten millimetres is possible Saturday as the temperature drops into the teens, which will be much-needed after this hot spell. These cute geese have the right idea to cool down.
