After weeks of waiting, Kitchener Rangers fans finally got the chance to buy merchandise celebrating the team’s big Memorial Cup win. The Kitchener Rangers hoisted the trophy on May 31, but hats, t-shirts and pennants celebrating that victory weren’t available to fans until Thursday. Some supporters told CTV News they started lining up around noon, even though the pop-up store at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium didn’t open until 4 p.m. “I’ve never felt more connected to my community than I have as a Rangers fan,” one person said. “This is just one of those examples. People show up pretty excited.” Team staff said they ordered approximately 3,000 commemorative shirts and hats, but not all the caps were delivered on time so they put a limit on how many hats each person could buy. The shop will open up again next Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Customers are asked to enter through door 21.
