The Montreal Canadiens announced on Monday that goalie Jacob Fowler had won the Molson Cup for October.

Fowler posted a record of 7-1-0, a save percentage of .932 and a goals-against average of 1.84. The 21-year-old goaltender has made two more starts than Jakub Dobes since the start of the season, despite starting out the year with the Laval Rocket in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Captain Nick Suzuki also took part in his second consecutive training session after taking to the ice during Saturday’s optional skate, ahead of the game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. He was wearing a red jersey, as were his usual line-mates, Cole Caufield and Juraj Slafkovsky.

Suzuki has not played since taking a shot to his left hand during the Canadiens’ 4–3 overtime loss to the San Jose Sharks on Oct. 20. Two days later, the team announced he would be sidelined for two to four weeks.

Kirby Dach, meanwhile, was still out after missing the team’s last game due to a virus.

The Habs will be looking to secure a sixth consecutive victory on Tuesday when the Winnipeg Jets visit the Bell Centre.
