Chatham-Kent police say a 23-year-old man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash. On Saturday at 2:56 a.m., officers responded to a crash on Centre Side Road at Pioneer Line in Chatham-Kent. Police say the investigation revealed that the vehicle lost control and left the roadway before entering a ditch. The driver sustained significant injuries that were determined to be life-threatening. The driver was taken to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical treatment. He was later transported to Victoria Hospital in London for further medical care. Due to the severity of the collision and the injuries sustained, members of the Traffic Management Unit attended the scene and assumed responsibility for the investigation. The intersection of Centre Side Road at Pioneer Line was closed for several hours but has since been reopened. The investigation remains ongoing.
