Ottawa police say a local soccer coach has been charged with multiple sexual offences dating back more than a decade, and there may be additional victims. In a news release on Friday, police said Raul San Martin Salas, 62, is facing multiple charges, including sexual assault, sexual interference with a person under 16 years, invitation to sexual touching and sexual exploitation of a young person. San Martin is also facing charges related to telecommunications with a person under 18 years and a person under 16 years for specific criminal offences, as well as making available sexually explicit material to a person under 18 years and a person under 16 years for specific criminal offences. Police say there may be additional victims in the Ottawa area. According to police, San Martin coached children’s soccer throughout the city with multiple different sanctioned and unsanctioned clubs. “Considering victims may not know the legal name of their offender, the Ottawa Police is taking the extra step of publicly releasing a photo of the accused,” Ottawa police said.
