A 44-year-old man has been charged after evading Regina police during a traffic stop on Sept. 20. Officers say they spotted a vehicle with a tinted cover obscuring its license plate near Third Avenue and Montauge Street at around 10:20 p.m. Sunday. After a failed traffic stop, police say the vehicle sped away. The suspect was followed by the Aerial Support Unit (ASU), which began tracking the vehicle through Regina. An officer later deployed a tire deflation device near Dewdney Street and Pinkie Road to bring the vehicle to a stop. The driver was arrested without further incident. He is charged with fleeing from a police officer and scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Court Oct. 28.
