Several streets in downtown Winnipeg will be closed Sunday to accommodate an annual Sikh parade. The Nagar Kirtan Sikh Procession takes place Sunday, bringing hundreds of people to downtown Winnipeg to sing traditional hymns through the streets. As a result of the event, several streets will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Memorial Boulevard will be closed between Broadway and York Avenue, while York Avenue will be closed from Osborne Street North to Memorial Boulevard. Broadway will be closed from Osborne Street North to Kennedy Street. Additionally, several streets will be closed for two hours beginning around 12:45 p.m. York Avenue will be closed from Memorial Boulevard to Garry Street, while Garry Street will be closed from York Avenue to Broadway. Westbound Broadway from Garry Street to Memorial Boulevard will also be closed. The city says drivers should expect delays and plan alternate routes.
