Four searches are underway in Montreal on Wednesday in connection with a murder that occurred in a residential building in the Sud-Ouest borough on July 29. Montreal police (SPVM) explains that the probes are “aimed at gathering new evidence to advance the criminal investigation.” The raids are taking place simultaneously inside apartments in the Ville-Marie, Plateau Mont-Royal, LaSalle and Sud-Ouest boroughs. This comes after police received several 911 calls at 11:45 p.m. on July 29, about an injured person in a residential building on Monk Boulevard near Pierre-Héroux Street. “Upon arriving at the scene, police discovered a 42-year-old man with serious injuries,” police said. “He was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries.” The force says it has reason to believe the suspects fled on foot. The death is considered the 13th homicide of 2026 on Montreal police territory. Anyone with information is asked to contact 911 or their local police station.
