A truck driver has been fined after a flatbed loaded with lumber flipped on a Metro Vancouver street Monday. The Maple Ridge RCMP were called to the scene of a collision around 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Dewdney Trunk Road and 201B Street, a spokesperson for the detachment said in a statement. “Officers on scene learned that a flat-bed truck and trailer was attempting an eastbound turn when the back of the trailer flipped over causing lumber to fall on to the road. The subsequent spill also led to another passenger vehicle being struck by debris in the area,” the statement said, adding no injuries were reported. The driver was issued multiple fines for violating the province’s Motor Vehicle Act, and the truck was taken off the road pending an inspection. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, according to Mounties.
