A high-risk offender with a history of violence and property crime is being released to live in Surrey, B.C., according to authorities. The Surrey Police Service on Tuesday issued a public interest disclosure to warn that 49-year-old Jonathan Anders Muzychka will be residing in the city. Police said Muzychka is under numerous court-ordered conditions and will be monitored electronically. He is prohibited from leaving the province or contacting the victims of his offences. He is also barred from consuming alcohol or drugs and must not possess any knives or weapons. Police said Muzychka is under a curfew from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. and cannot leave his residence for more than 24 hours without written permission from his probation officer. Police described Muzychka as a “designated high-risk offender who has a history of violence towards people and property crime.” He is a white man standing 6’1” tall with a medium build. He has short brown hair, brown eyes and facial hair, police said. Anyone who sees Muzychka breaching his release conditions is asked to immediately call 911.
