Emergency crews were called to an unusual incident in a Barrie parking lot Wednesday morning. Barrie Fire confirms that they were dispatched to an 11:07 a.m. report about a vehicle that had crashed into a storefront in the plaza near Ferndale Drive South and Ardagh Road. When CTV News arrived on scene just before 1:30 p.m., substantial damage was observed at the optometrist office in the plaza, including a smashed front entrance and broken glass all over the ground. There were no signs of any vehicle or emergency crews, but the optometrist office was cordoned off. Barrie Fire confirms that no extrication was required in the incident.
