A 32-year-old man suffered injuries to his upper body during what police say is an armed assault in the Ville-Marie Borough early Thursday morning. Montreal police spokesperson Caroline Chevrefils said officers on patrol found the injured man near the corner of Ste-Catherine Street and Hotel-de-Ville Avenue at about 3 a.m. “He was conscious, and he was injured in the upper body with a sharp object. He was then transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries,” she said. The circumstances surrounding the attack are currently unknown, and despite extensive research, Chevrefils said officers were unable to locate the scene of the armed assault. Police are checking for possible surveillance cameras. So far, no arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
