The Quebec ministry that manages food safety is warning shoppers in the Montérégie about possible metal and plastic fragments found in ground beef and ground veal at one grocery store. The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ), along with Marché Lambert et Frères inc. (IGA Extra), at 23 Seigneurial Blvd. West in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, is advising the public not to consume all units of ground beef and minced veal sold with a packaging date of July 5, 2026. The products in the warning were sold exclusively on July 5, 2026, and only at the grocery store above. They were packaged in a Styrofoam tray covered with a clear plastic film and were sold refrigerated. The store is voluntarily recalling the products in question and has agreed to issue the warning as a precautionary measure. Anyone who has one of these products is advised not to consume it. Anyone who has symptoms related to eating it should consult with a healthcare professional. No cases of illness associated with eating these foods have been reported to MAPAQ to date.
