Ukrainian Montrealers mark four years of war with stories of loss and resilience

Montreal’s Ukrainian community rallied to mark four years since Russia’s invasion, sharing stories of loved ones caught in the conflict and ongoing human loss.

Montreal’s Ukrainian community held a rally downtown on Saturday to mark four years since Russia’s invasion.

Nearly everyone who attended the demonstration said they know somebody involved in the conflict.

Many shared their stories of human tragedy.

Addressing the crowd, Ukraine’s ambassador to Canada reiterated his country’s refusal to surrender.“Four years of resilience. Four years of sacrifice for Ukrainians. These four years are measured in lives lost. Families separated. Cities destroyed and futures put on hold,” he said.
