Montreal police arrested four men on Wednesday who are allegedly linked to a drug trafficking network operating mostly in the greater Montreal area. The arrests took place in Montreal East. Searches carried out during the operation led to the seizure of three firearms, ammunition, more than $12,000 in cash, and a variety of drugs, mainly cocaine, with an approximate street value of over $27,000. Other evidence was also seized, said police. Three of the suspects appeared in custody at the Montreal courthouse Thursday to face several charges, including possession of prohibited firearms and possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. The fourth was released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
