The system designed to allow students to access their official ministry exam results online experienced “difficulties” on Tuesday, Quebec’s Ministry of Education confirmed. Since early Tuesday morning, thousands of students in Quebec and their parents have been unable to log in to the platform to view the results of the provincial exams. A technical issue gripped the Government Authentication Service (SAG) platform, even affecting phone lines. In a written statement to Noovo Info, Education Minister Sonia LeBel assured that ministry teams had been working “actively” to resolve the situation. The Ministry said it is “aware of the inconvenience caused,” adding that by the afternoon, the portal “was once again allowing students and their parents to access the results.” “The Ministry will, however, continue to investigate the exact causes of the outage to ensure that this situation does not happen again,” the statement added. The Ministry of Education says it has asked school service centres, school boards, and private schools to directly contact students who are at risk of failing, to enable prompt follow-up and to inform them of the next steps they need to take. - With files from Noovo Info’s Émeric Montminy
