Drivers west of Montreal take note: Route 340 (Cité-des-Jeunes Boulevard) is closing completely in both directions at Henry-Ford Street in Vaudreuil-Dorion from August to October. Quebec’s Transport Ministry says it is building a second roundabout there. The closure will begin Aug. 2 at 10 p.m. and run until the end of October: Detours will be signposted, but budget extra time to drive through the area. The new roundabout at Route 340 and Boulevard de la Gare is partially open, but more changes are coming, so pay attention to the signage. Standard roundabout rules apply: slow down, yield to whoever’s already in it, and stop completely if traffic is backed up. The transport minister noted that work could get pushed back, extended, or cancelled depending on weather, so check Québec 511 (site or app) heading out.
