A 33-year-old man from Bear River, N.S., has died after a collision between two off-road vehicles near Weymouth on Tuesday night. Digby RCMP, fire services and EHS responded to a report of a collision on Sissiboo Road, southwest of Gilberts Cove Road at around 11:50 p.m. Police say two off-road vehicles were travelling in the same direction on the rural road when one hit the other from behind. The driver and passenger were thrown from the second vehicle on impact. The driver was pronounced dead on scene. The passenger, a 23-year-old woman from Digby, was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries. The driver and sole occupant of the leading vehicle, a 27-year-old Hassett woman, did not report any injuries. Sissiboo Road was closed for several hours as an RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the area of the collision. Digby RCMP says the investigation is ongoing.
