Three men are facing drug related charges following a police operation in the Argyle Park and Walsh Acres neighbourhoods. On Monday, officers with the Regina Police Service (RPS) street gang unit, the robbery unit, the Regina intelligence unit and the SWAT team conducted a search warrant at three homes, according to an update from police on Wednesday. Under the authority of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, officers searched a residence in the area of Sangster Boulevard, one on the 700 block of Argyle Street North and one on the 100 block of Markwell Drive. About 2.5 kilograms of cocaine, 2 kilograms of methamphetamine, a large amount of unknown pills and about $2,200 in Canadian cash were found and seized. A 36-year-old man is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000. A 32-year-old man is charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. A 35-year-old man is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in addition to trafficking cocaine. The three men all appeared in Regina Provincial Court on Tuesday. RPS say the investigation is ongoing, adding the service remains committed to combatting high-level drug traffickers. The service pointed to two similar, but unrelated recent drug busts in the city.
