A 61-year-old man from Jardineville, N.B., was sentenced to 22 months in jail minus time served for a series of frauds in the Dieppe, N.B., area. Charles Arsenault appeared in Moncton provincial court on Aug. 14, 2026, where he was also ordered to pay over $100,000 in restitution. Codiac Regional RCMP began investigating in November 2019 after receiving a report that a person was collecting payments for services allegedly provided under the name of a former specialized automotive and industrial service business. The Forensic Accounting Management Group completed an audit on Sept. 26, 2023, and sent critical findings to the RCMP for review. As part of the ongoing investigation, Arsenault attended the Codiac Regional RCMP Detachment and was arrested. He was released pending a future court appearance. Arsenault appeared in Moncton provincial court on July 16, 2024, and was charged with fraud over $5,000, theft over $5,000 and forgery.
