One woman is facing an impaired driving charge after a crash on the E.C. Row Expressway in Windsor. At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Windsor police officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision near the intersection of Central Avenue and E.C. Row Expressway. Once on the scene, officers found a heavily damaged Dodge Charger in a ditch on the south side of the expressway’s westbound lanes. Officers learned the vehicle had broken through a guardrail and travelled down the embankment near the Central Avenue on-ramp. While speaking with the driver, officers detected an odour of alcohol, and the driver was given a roadside breath test, which police say she failed. She was subsequently transported to Windsor Police headquarters, where police say she failed additional breath tests. The driver sustained minor physical injuries as a result of the collision. A 53-year-old woman has been charged with operation of a conveyance with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.
